Having a parent or family member going through the prison system may be an extra challenge that your family is experiencing. It may leave you feeling confused, angry, and frustrated, you may also be concerned about the effect it may have on your children/child. You may find it challenging to talk about what has happened, if you would like to, Sammy and Kate can be that listening ear by phone or face to face. We will not ask why they have been arrested or why they are in prison, but we hope to support you to access what your family needs. We will work alongside you, so please be honest about the challenges you are experiencing. We have resources that can support you with visiting prison, maintaining contact, understanding feelings or to see if you qualify for financial support.
